Clean Out Your Cosmetic Bag

Bacteria can grow in makeup, so it’s important to clean out your makeup bag regularly.

Here are some guidelines to help you determine when you should replace your makeup:

Mascara: As this product is extremely prone to bacterial infection, be sure to replace mascara when you first start treatment and keep replacing it every month during treatment.

Eyeliner: three years and sharpen the pencil on a regular basis

Facial cleanser: six months

Eyeshadow: three years

Makeup foundation: one year

Powder: two years

Lipstick: two years

Lip pencils: three years, and sharpen the pencil on a regular basis

Avoid using multi-use products such as 3-in-1 sticks and creams, since they can spread germs from lips to eyes and cheeks.

Makeup foundation with an SPF should have an expiry date on the packaging.

Any shared makeup should be replaced immediately.
